Aurora San Diego Hospital provides Outpatient Treatment Programs, (PHP) Partial Hospitalization Programs and (IOP) Intensive Outpatient Programs, for patients whose acute psychiatric symptoms require a safe and therapeutic environment. Aurora San Diego also provides Intensive Outpatient Programs for Chemical Dependency and Dual Diagnosis patients that specifically address the needs of those in recovery from substance abuse issues. Our team of outpatient specialists recognize and understand the needs of patients dealing with mental health or chemical dependency issues who are looking to continue to titrate to lower levels of care. The overall goal of our Outpatient Programs is to help individuals to continue working on their wellness and recovery while achieving success in their lives.  

Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) (TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE)

The Partial Hospitalization Program is a comprehensive Outpatient Program that provides support and treatment for individuals facing emotional difficulties or mental health challenges. Our program offers all of the programming features of inpatient care, but without the hospital stay. The Structured Program Format provides physician oversight, plus therapeutic groups and activities. Since PHP participants return home in the evenings, they are able to maintain important links to family and community.

  • Comprehensive Assessment
  • Psychiatric Management
  • Individualized Treatment Plans
  • Education Regarding Diagnosis
  • Group Therapy focused on helping patients to obtain life/coping skills and to return to an optimal level of functioning
  • 12 Step Orientation/Drug & Alcohol Education (as appropriate)
  • Encouragement of family support and recovery

Age specific PHP Programs are offered for Children, Adolescents and Adults

Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) 

The Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to provide a comprehensive, time specific, therapeutic environment for the treatment of Mental Health or Substance Abuse Iissues. Our IOP group therapy is designed for those seeking tools and principles of recovery either as a step down from Inpatient or Partial Hospitalization Treatment, or someone needing a little more continued treatment and support.

Patients have access to a multidisciplinary team of experts that include psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, therapists and chemical dependency counselors.  For Program Groups meet three hours a day, and the frequency and duration are dependent on the patients individualized treatment plan  

Age Specific Psychiatric IOP Programs are offered for Adolescents and Adults

Chemical Dependency & Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) 

The Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to provide a comprehensive, time specific, therapeutic environment for the treatment of Mental Health or Substance Abuse Issues. Our IOP group therapy is designed for those seeking tools and principles of recovery either as a step down from Inpatient Medical Detoxification and/or Rehabilitation (or a Non Hospital Based Residential Setting), or someone needing a little more continued treatment and support.

Patients have access to a multidisciplinary team of experts that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, therapists and chemical dependency counselors. For Chemical Dependency Patients, groups meets three hours a day, three days a week, usually for an eight week period. For Dual Diagnosis Patients, groups meet three hours a day, and the frequency and duration are dependent on the patients individualized treatment plan.

Age Specific Chemical Dependency and Dual Diagnosis IOP Programs are available for Adolescents and Adults.
