It is our goal to provide the highest quality behavioral healthcare for our patients. In order to do so, we have established guidelines for your stay. Many of these guidelines are in response to mental health laws, regulations, and all guidelines seek to protect the safety of our patients, staff and visitors. Please review the following guidelines below for our NON-Military and NON-First Responder patients. SAFE ITEMS TO BRING DURING INPATIENT HOSPITAL STAY ***The personal items allowed below may be removed if used for a potientially dangerous reason to self or others***
-COMFORTABLE SEASONAL CLOTHING, SLEEPWEAR: (washer and dryer available).
(Nothing too revealing, too tight or too short WITH RESTRICTION OF #1 and #2 BELOW).
-PROPER FOOTWEAR:
(Laced shoes (for gym only) otherwise non-slip or slipper type no lace shoes for daily wear).
-ACCESS TO PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS: (If you have a personal hygiene item, discuss with your Doctor).
(WITH EXCEPTION OF Restriction #3 BELOW Plastic bottles/tubes allowed only. We can supply hygiene products if neeed, ie: toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, comb, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, razor, and skin care products).
-EYEGLASSES, FALSE TEETH: (one pair in room/in use).
-ACCESS TO LETTER WRITING AND APPROVED READING MATERIALS:
(We can provide all materials for letter writing including stamps. We have approved reading materials available. We ask one item in your room in use and switch out as needed. Must exchange one to recieve one).
-DO NOT BRING UNSAFE ITEMS BELOW FOR INPATIENT HOSPITAL STAY***Including but not exclusive of***
1. Belts, drawstrings, suspenders, shoelaces, hard toe boots, overalls, coveralls.
2. Provocative or gang identifying clothing (ie:sexually suggestive, skull and crossbone, alcohol or drug depictments).
3. Hygiene liquids/makeup containing alcohol (or containing methanol, isopropanol or ethanol).
4. NO alcohol, street drugs/drug paraphernalia, toxic chemicals, aersols (personal medications, herbal supplements are managed by nursing staff per Doctor approval).
5. Metals, glass, wood, plastic, sharp items.
6. Lighter/fluids, matches, NO E-cigarettes/NO Vapes.
7. Technology, recording devices, cameras, pcs, electrical, violent/sexual movies, cd/dvd's.
-INFECTION CONTROL:
8. NO personal pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, puffy character slippers (any items with seamed layers that can be used to hide pills, razors, etc.).
PROHIBITIVE/DANGEROUS WEAPONS:
9. Firearms, bullets, brass knuckles, martial arts paraphernalia, switch blades, fireworks, etc.
-ON ADMISSION:
-Encourage family members to take unsafe items home (this list IS NOT exhaustive).
-Any safe item used in an improper manner and/or altered as to present a danger to the safety of any patient, staff member, visitor, or as a health, fire, safety hazard may be removed.
-NO food/beverages brought in by visitors/staff.
-Luggage/patient's own medication/inhalers/CPAPs will be kept in the galley or medication room until discharge.
-Valuable items will be kept in the hospital safe (jewelry, mobile phones, checkbooks, ID's, cash, etc.).
